Objective:

Use oil pastels to create your own version of Wassily Kandinsky's Squares With Concentric Circles.

Details:

1) Take a look at Wassily Kandinsky's Squares With Concentric Circles. 

2) Gather your supplies. You may use any combination of the following mediums: Pastels (suggested,) crayon, watercolor, or any type of paint. Your canvas is up to you.

3) Inspired by Wassily's work, create your own version of Squares With Concentric Circles.

4) Post your photo of your finished work on Instagram or Twitter with the tag #QuestScouts and #Wassily. You can also share your experiences in our Facebook group.

Objective:

Find out if there is a doughnut (or doughnut variation) native to your heritage.

1) Spend some time researching doughnuts, or doughnut like variations, native to your heritage.

Objective:

Read The Missing Piece Meets the Big O by Shel Silverstein.

Details:

1) Read The Missing Piece Meets the Big O by Shel Silverstein, in it's entirety. 

Check out the book from you local library, buy it at your local bookstore or get it on Amazon.

2) Write a short book review and post it in the comments below. Include whether or not you've read the book previously, and whether your change in perspective influenced how you experienced the book this time around.

Rings - Travel - 300

Objective:

Go round and round (and round again) on a carousel.

Details:

1) (Optional) Watch Jonathan Napolitano's "The Carousel" to get in the spirit of this objective.

2) Research carousels you could potentially visit. Depending on where you live, you might need to plan this objective into a future trip.

Examples of awesome carousels include:

       Cedar Down Racing Derby in Sandusky, OH

       Smithsonian Carousel in Washington DC

       A Carousel for Missoula in Missoula, MT

Burnaby Village Carousel in Burnaby, BC

       And, of course, there are plenty more carousels to choose from. Check out this map from the National Carousel Association.

Note: Don't cheat yourself out of what could be an amazing experience by taking the easy way out. Please do not choose a "children's" miniature sized carousel commonly found outside a supermarket. We're looking for full sized carousels here.

Rings - Visit - 900

Objective:

Take a "Tour de Doughnuts" through tasting and rating doughnuts from multiple shops.

Details:

1)  Research doughnut shops you may want to visit.

Remember- Quest Scouts is all about trying new things! Sure, you can visit a shop you've been to before, but do your best to expand your horizons. Is there a local shop you've yet to visit? Are there any highly recommended shops in cities you plan to visit?

2) Print out a "Tour de Doughnuts" doughnut rating sheet. Make sure to bring your rating sheet along as you move on to step three! 

3) Visit a doughnut shop of your choice. Sample a doughnut, and record your thought on your doughnut rating sheet.

4) Document your visit with a photo and post it on Instagram or Twitter with the tag #QuestScouts and #Doughnut. You can also share your experiences in our Facebook group.

Remember, if you post to a public Instagram or Twitter account your photo will show up on our Scout Board for other Quest Scouts to enjoy and comment on.

5) (Optional) Continue your Tour de Doughnuts by continuing to visit shops, sample doughnuts and record your thoughts.

Notes: A) Each shop you visit (maximum six shops) is worth 150 points, for a total of up to 900 points. Only 150 points per shop may be claimed, even if you order more than one doughnut. B) The "Tour De Doughnut" does not have to be completed in a single day, so take your time!

6) When you have completed your Tour de Doughnut, let us know which shop was your favorite in the comments below.
