Weekly Challenge: Mom & Pop đź‘«
Complete the Pop 50 point Visit Micro Objective through patronizing a local “mom & pop” shop.
Details:
Merriam-Webster defines “mom and pop” as an adjective that describes “being or relating to a small owner-operated business” and “small scale”. Think small independent business- the opposite of a large chain.
1) Identify a mom and pop business in your area that you’d like to visit. This could be a grocery store, brewery, candle shop… the choice is up to you! Just make sure it fits the definition of “mom and pop”.
Consider choosing somewhere you’ve never been or have not visited in a while! (This is not required, but could make for a more fun experience!)
2) Visit your mom and pop shop! While you’re there, consider buying something to support the small business.
3) Document your adventure with at least one photo and post it in our Facebook Group in a comment on the post “Mom & Pop 👫.” (Posting on our Facebook Page is what reminds us to award you your well deserved star!)
4) Include in your comment, alongside your photo, tell us about your experience:
What mom and pop shop did you visit?
In your opinion, what makes it a mom and pop shop?
Had you been there before?
Did you buy anything?
Did anything fun, exciting, or out of the ordinary happen while you were there?
5) Don’t forget to record your points! Completing this objective not only earns you a star, but also 50 points towards your Pop quest for completing the Visit Micro Objective.
