Weekly Challenge: CRAFTastic 🧶
October is Member Appreciation Month 2023! This month, we’re featuring FIVE CHALLENGES created by your fellow scouts. This week’s challenge was inspired by Heather Hoyt. Heather challenges you to try a “new to you” craft.
Details:
1) Choose a craft that you have never tried before.
Some ideas to get you started are:
Knitting
Cake decorating
Book folding
Needlepoint
Quilting
Flower arranging
Wood burning
Wood carving
Candle or soap making
Cross stitch (Suggested by Karen Gonzalez!)
The ideas are endless!
2) Find a way to learn about the new craft.
You may want to:
Search for YouTube tutorial videos online
Check out an instructional book from the library, and/or
Find an in person class to take.
3) Gather the materials you will need to participate in your craft.
4) Get crafty! Take the time to participate in whatever craft you chose. Create that cross stitch! Decorate that cake! DO THE CRAFT!
5) Take a photo that documents your craft and share it on our Facebook Page as a comment on the post “CRAFTastic 🧶.” (Posting on our Facebook Page is what reminds us to award you your well deserved star!)
6) Along with your photo, use your Facebook comment to tell us:
What “new to you” craft did you try?
Where did you learn about your craft?
Is this a craft you hope to continue participating in in the future?

7) To collect your star, you must:
-Have earned at least 1,000 points toward your Blackout badge and
-Post a comment to the Facebook post mentioned above, (Step 3)
-before November 20, 2023
-while holding an active Quest Scouts membership. (Not a member, but interested in collecting stars? You can become a member here.)
